Frequently Asked Questions

No Question is Too Personal or Too Small.

If you’ve been wondering about pelvic health, chances are someone else has too, let’s clear it up.

  • Your first 60-minute session is all about you.
We’ll start by talking about your history, what’s been going on, and what you’d like to achieve. Then we’ll do a full-body assessment, looking at posture, strength, and mobility. If it seems helpful and you’re comfortable, we can also do an internal pelvic floor exam, but this is always completely optional.

You will receive treatment on day one, and before you leave, we’ll create a plan that’s tailored to your goals, your lifestyle, and what matters most to you.

  • Beginning September 1, 2025, you can begin physical therapy in Texas without a physician’s referral for up to 30 consecutive calendar days. If treatment is needed beyond that, you’ll need to obtain a referral from a physician, nurse practitioner, chiropractor, or similar provider.

  • Yes. At Pivot Physio, we treat women, men, and children for a wide range of pelvic health and musculoskeletal concerns. Care is always tailored to each person’s age, comfort level, and individual goals.

  • Absolutely. Many of our patients come to us with concerns that aren’t listed on our site, or with a diagnosis that’s still being figured out. If it’s related to pelvic health, movement, or musculoskeletal function, we can likely help and if it’s something outside our scope, we’ll point you toward the right specialist. If you’re unsure, reach out and we can talk through your situation before you book.

  • We strive to make payment as convenient as possible by accepting debit/credit cards, Health Savings Accounts (HSA), and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) funds.

  • The length of care varies depending on your symptoms, history, and goals. Most patients move through care in phases, beginning with symptom relief, progressing into restoring strength and control, and then reinforcing those gains as daily demands increase.

Your plan is adjusted based on how your body responds, rather than a preset number of visits. We’ll discuss progress regularly and make decisions together as care evolves.

  • Care is designed to resolve symptoms while building your body’s ability to tolerate stress and recover from flare-ups. As resilience improves, many patients are able to manage symptoms independently rather than needing ongoing treatment.

Some patients choose to return for periodic continuity visits during times of increased stress, training changes, or life transitions. These visits are optional and focused on protecting progress, not providing continuous care.
